mEErFrauen e.V. is a nonprofit network that raises the profile of women in the energy transition sector, promotes their networking and career development, and raises awareness among industry stakeholders about the need for greater gender equality.
About the organisation
The nonprofit association mEErFrauen e.V. aims to support and guide more women on their path into the “energy transition sector” (renewable energy, grids, storage, electric mobility, sector coupling). Drawing on our own professional backgrounds and a growing network, we specifically support female specialists and executives in their careers. We help companies, as well as research and educational institutions, to network and share ideas that promote women’s advancement. mEErFrauen e.V. raises awareness among relevant stakeholders about gender equality measures and works with them to develop proposals for improvement (systemic cycle). The northern German states are intended to serve as a model region for a (gender-)equitable and thus more efficient energy transition. Through networking meetings, events, and participation in industry gatherings, we create visibility and opportunities for exchange for women in the energy sector.
