greentech is an integrated photovoltaic specialist. Founded in 2008, our scope of operations now includes project development, planning, construction, and operations management of photovoltaic systems in nine European countries. We also offer services in the areas of quality assurance, yield optimization, financing, and electricity marketing. With a team of approximately 200 people in Germany, the UK, and Italy, greentech manages a portfolio of over 1 GW in technical and commercial operations and has its own project development pipeline of 5 GW of ground-mounted PV systems. In addition, we develop investment structures for institutional investors covering a substantial portion of these assets, which we manage as part of our asset management services.

As part of the Power Plant IT and ICS team, we plan and implement communication and control technology as well as safety-critical systems for generation and storage facilities (PV, wind, and BESS). We are seeking a PLC Programmer / Automation & Control Engineer (m/f/d) for our Hamburg office to start as soon as possible. You’ll play a central role in the planning, implementation, and documentation of our power generation and energy storage facilities. Your Responsibilities:
You will independently perform installation, parameterization, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecontrol, control, and automation systems.
You will program, visualize, and test PLCs (e.g., Beckhoff, Siemens, Wago, Phoenix Contact) and EZA controllers, perform functional tests and post-processing, and ensure reliable data communication between our generation and storage facilities, grid operators, and other stakeholders.
You will support the commissioning and system transitions of our generation and storage facilities with a clear focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
You will continuously develop our automation solutions.
You create and update technical documentation to ensure that all processes remain transparent and traceable, and you collaborate with internal teams, grid operators, and external partners.
You will be responsible for maintaining documentation as part of the declaration of conformity for our generation and storage facilities.
Your Profile:
You have completed vocational training or a degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, communications technology, or data technology
You have several years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the energy sector.
You apply secure PLC coding practices and have experience programming EZA controllers as well as in the energy management of generation and storage facilities (e.g., grid and consumption control, load management).
You are proficient in PLC programming according to IEC 61131-3 (preferably with CODESYS) and ideally already have experience in object-oriented software development as well as version control (e.g., Git)
You are familiar with common telecontrol protocols such as IEC 60870-5-101/104, IEC 61850, Modbus, or OPC UA.
You have a strong interest in the technical standards and regulatory requirements of the energy industry.
You have a structured, analytical approach to work and enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration.
A Class B driver’s license is desirable
